The planting of an olive tree can be done on terraces or terraces with minimal erosion and possible water loss, in ridges, level cures, in soils with a good surface profile for cultivation, but with drainage difficulties. To plant an olive tree, several suitable procedures are usually done for a perfect result.

Recommendations when planting an olive tree

If you want to plant more than one specimen, you should make a sketch or design of the way you want to plant according to the terrain or space that is available, then you must mark the land with the areas where you want to dig holes for placing the seeds of the olive tree with a maximum of 5cm of depth.

Next, to plant an olive tree, the land where the seed was sown must be imprisoned to avoid air pockets and finally they must be irrigated as little as 50 liters per foot.

The olive trees can be planted in the aforementioned places, however, it must be analyzed which cropping system is the most feasible for the place or area where it is decided to carry out the planting of the olive tree.

In the same way, other factors must be taken into account when planting an olive tree depending on the terrain and the system to be implanted, such as the availability of water in the soil, drainage during rainy and dry seasons, costs of the cultivation, soil erosion, quantity of pests and weeds, soil microorganisms, planting temperatures, among others.

It is also recommended that to plant an olive tree per hectare be studied according to the area and the type of crop to determine the number of seeds that will be placed. At the same time it is recommended that the separations be of minimum 7 meters between each row, to allow a mechanized handling in the plantation without causing any damage.
